Image Archive

This is the largest update of images I've ever done - 762 new entres taking us to 7,256 images in the archive. There are already a hundred or so new ones waiting! It has taken me a huge amount of time to get them ready and loaded. It normally takes about 5 minutes per image, this lot have taken much more than that becuse I've had to create so many new indexes and albums. That explains why some of you have waited so long to see your images loaded, and why I've been silent on the chat group (link of the day can resume!)

As previously, I can only apologise for the poor quality of some images but I still work on the principle that a poor image is better than  no image.

2010 Oct 21st

Narrow Boat Emily continues to take up a lot of my time and I am in the process of adding over 650 new images which is taking an inordinate amount of time but which I think you will enjoy once I get them all published. In the meantime I have made the following updates:

Diary added a number of new events for the coming months and for 2011. In particular:

- UK Scottish Branch has a dinner on 7th November at Aberfeldy.

- The Friends of HMS Conway have their AGM on 13th November and thier annual Remembrance Service on the 14th.

- UK South West Branch has a luncheon and tour of the Devonport RN dockyard on 26th November.

2010 Sep 12th

Sorry about the lack of updates for the last few months -we've been rather busy on our narrowboat. This is a quick update to say I've deleted all the old Diary entries and have updated the home page to remind youn that the Club's annual dinner dance and AGM is looming. Nothing will ever compare to last year's 150th celebrations but this year marks a special centenary, 100 years since the founding of the Club.

2010 May 10th

Bibliography

Added a new autobiography by Tony Matthews (51-53)

The History of HMS Conway is now available as an eBook click here.

Club Pages

Completely redesigned, click here

Friends pages

Updated them so that the Lost at Sea page also appears as a current project. Also added the Roll of Honour Project to the list of completed activities.

Shop Added details of John Masefield's first recording now available for sale.

Attention South African OCs! An OW is trying to set up get togethers in Gauteng in association with Old Bothas, OWs and OPs so that old training ship associations can continue in South Africa. Go to the News page and look under South Africa.

A Career ar Sea has been a bit quiet of late. The pages now list 807 shipping companies, 57 pilot services, 37 harbourmasters, 84 nautical training organisations, 189 armed forces units, 48 emergency/uniformed services and 136 civilian jobs. Please email me if your details are not covered.

2010 March 16th

Replaced the Friends of HMS Conway pages with a completely new structure and lots of new content. In due course other sections of the site will be similarly restructured.

Conway Ringtone: To entice you to their new pages you can download a mobile phone ringtone of the Conway Song from their Welcome Page. It works fine on my iPhone and only took seconds to transfer from the web page to my phone - if you have problems that's to do with your phone not my ringtone!
